Male Voice
Jeremy Dombrowski
I find it easier to learn a language if the text to speech voice that I'm listening to is male.
Men and Women speak differently enough in pitch that I sometimes struggle to speak words which contain unfamiliar sounds with only a Female voice as reference.
This may sound like a minor complaint or, worse, be seen as some kind of politically incorrect misogyny. But, this issue causes cognitive friction for users and increases the time & difficulty of language learning. Because of this, I consider this a very real pain point that has a relatively simple fix.

Hey Jeremy, thanks for sharing this. As of now, we don't have control over the gender of the voice. We are thinking of moving to a different engine for our audio pronunciation soon, so when we make that change I'll be sure to include more choices for the way the pronunciations sound.

Ara Ghougassian: Well you end up moving to a different engine, then another fun idea might be to have the gendered words be pronounced by the gender they correspond with -- an elegant solution to the colorblind issue I posted about hah ^^
